Guaranteed Admission Eligibility Requirements

Students who enrolled as degree-seeking students at Ivy Tech Community College on or after June 1, 2021, and successfully complete the Associate of ScienceElementary Education – Transfer as a Junior (TSAP) degree and the Indiana College Core (formerly designated STGEC) at Ivy Tech Community College with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher may be eligible for guaranteed admission to the Bachelor of Science in Informatics TSAP program at IU Bloomington

To qualify for Guaranteed Admission to this TSAP program at IU Bloomington a student must:

  1. apply for admission to the BS in Education: Elementary Education TSAP program at IU Bloomington
  2. provide the IU Bloomington Office of Admissions with an official Ivy Tech student transcript verifying completion of the Associate of Science – Elementary Education – Transfer as a Junior (TSAP) and the Indiana College Core (STGEC) at Ivy Tech prior to July 1 for Fall term admission. A candidate for Spring admission can be reviewed and conditionally admitted to the program with verification from Ivy Tech, by December 15, that the student has met or is on track to meet all admission requirements by the end of December. The student’s admission will be considered conditional and enrollment for future terms will be prohibited until the official transcript confirming completion of TSAP and ICC (STGEC) milestones has been received from Ivy Tech.
  3. earn a grade of C or higher in all Ivy Tech courses required as part of the Elementary Education TSAP program
  4. earn no grade lower than a C in the final semester before graduating from Ivy Tech
  5. meet the standard IU Bloomington requirements for eligibility as detailed below.

Students may be admitted to the IUB BS Ed: Elementary Education TSAP program for the Fall or Spring term only. The application deadline is June 1 for Fall term admission or November 1 for Spring term admission.

Standard Indiana University Eligibility Requirements

Indiana University Bloomington is committed to maintaining a safe learning environment. As part of that commitment, Indiana University requires all applicants to disclose if they

    • have been subject to formal disciplinary action (including for example, but not limited to, suspension or expulsion for academic or non-academic reasons at a high school, post-secondary institution, college or university;
    • have been charged with or convicted of a crime (or a foreign legal equivalent) that has not been expunged by a court;
    • and\or have engaged in behavior that caused injury to person(s) or personal property (including for example, but not limited to, vandalism or behavior that led to a restraining order) which resulted in some form of discipline or intervention.

Students who have been subject to formal disciplinary action and/or have been charged or convicted of a crime and/or have engaged in injurious behavior as described above do not qualify for guaranteed admission to IU Bloomington. Please note, however, that a previous disciplinary action, charge, conviction, or conduct of the sort identified above does not automatically disqualify applicants from admission to IU, but they do require review by the campus admissions committee.
