For prior learning, the IU School of Nursing only accepts prior learning credit for the RN-BSN program for students who graduated from accredited Associate Science in Nursing (ASN) degree programs. We accept up to 34 credits of prior learning for the following nursing coursework:
NURS-B260 -Fundamentals of Nursing5 credits
NURS-B261 -Pathophysiology/Pharmacology4 credits
NURS-B334 -Transitional Care of Families5 credits
NURS-H356 -Clinical Care I:Biophysical Processes5 credits
NURS-H360 -Clinical Care II:Interactive Processes5 credits
NURS-H371 -Clinical Care III:Adaptive Processes5 credits
NURS-H476 -Clinical Care IV:Complex Processes5 credits
In addition, we accept 30 credits of prior learning for General Education coursework.
This credit is awarded as “special Credit” by the School of Nursing at no charge to the student and is awarded once the student completes the second semester of the RN-BSN program.
